Mission:

New Student Programs, office of Enrollment Management, coordinates the University's orientation programs. New Student Programs is intended to empower students' academic, personal and professional success. As a complement to the University's mission-Educating Tomorrows Leaders-New Student Programs provides opportunity for leadership and involvement in the Missouri S&T campus community. The goals and objectives of the New Student Programs office are achieved through a coordinated sequence of events, which provide interactions between new students, faculty, staff and student leaders.

Goals:

• To orient new students to campus
• To welcome new students to the Missouri S&T community
• To facilitate an effective transition to Missouri S&T
• To provide the foundation for future success
• To initiate matriculation (ID cards, computer accounts, class registration)
• To begin the learning process
• To introduce the concepts of professional development and leadership
• To establish realistic academic expectations for students and provide programs that promote academic success.
• To encourage students to begin preparing themselves for professional development opportunities.
• To assist with personal and social development as students adapt to the college experience.
• To help students evolve as responsible citizens.
• To aid in student retention by providing a positive introduction and transition to Missouri S&T.
• To provide an opportunity for students to interact and bond with other students, faculty and staff.
